The Peoria City Council will consider an agreement with Maricopa County to receive and administer flu vaccines to the public, at their public meeting Oct. 20.

The Maricopa County Department of Public Health has available flu vaccines and wants to collaborate with the city through the fire-medical department to provide flu vaccinations.

The vaccine will be provided free of charge to the public and Peoria will be eligible for a reimbursement of an administration fee of $22.32 for adults and $15.43 for children per every vaccine given to the public.

This program is the result of a statewide initiative to provide flu vaccines to as many people who would like the vaccine in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the public meeting, the city council will also consider  renewing an agreement with Project Cities, an Arizona State University program that matches students and faculty with Peoria staff members, who serve as project leads, to study a variety of issues in support of Peoria's strategic initiatives.

Lastly, the council will consider a case to rezone a 21.1 acre site, located at 11150 W. Beardsley Road, to allow a new location of Arrowhead RV and Boat Storage.
