Peoria-based TYR Tactical received the Manufacturer of the Year Award for the state of Arizona.

Every year the Arizona Manufacturers Council and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry honor distinguished leaders in the manufacturing industry at their annual Manufacturer of the Year Awards and Summit.

These awards are an opportunity for dynamic leaders from Arizona’s manufacturing community to be recognized for their achievements.

This is the second time TYR Tactical has won this award in the past four years.

Criteria for the award includes excellence in manufacturing, operations, industry best practices, personnel management, innovation, and community involvement.

Founded in 2010, owner and designer Beck created TYR Tactical with the mindset that every stitch counts. This mindset has been the foundation of the culture at TYR Tactical, where all employees find pride in manufacturing lifesaving products.

TYR Tactical has grown from a 200-square foot room with two employees to more than 125,000 square feet and over 320 employees in Peoria, and an additional two facilities in Canada and Denmark, totaling an additional 40 employees.

Most recently, it broke ground on its third facility in Peoria, which is 73,000 square feet and will add additional jobs.

TYR Tactical has over 50 patents worldwide and holds contracts with U.S. Government and law enforcement and international governments and militaries such as Sweden, Denmark, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Its products are fielded on SWAT teams across the nation, including the majority of cities in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.
