Monte R. Bosch

Posted

Monte passed peacefully from a months-long battle with pneumonia on February 19, 2021. Monte came into the world on August 27, 1946 with a twin brother, Martin, Sons of Martin W. Bosch and Bertha Bosch, in Parker, South Dakota.
The family moved to Wyoming in the 1955, where Monte and Martin did part-time work to earn money to purchase band instruments. In 1960 the Bosch family moved to Rapid City SD. As young teens Monte and Martin pursued their school band music, becoming twin drum majors for Rapid City High School marching band, and later professional musicians in several dance and rock and roll bands. Both Monte and Martin attended and graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, respectively.
After graduation Monte was accepted into Loyola University Medical School in Chicago IL, where he obtained a DDS degree. He practiced dentistry in Sun City, AZ from 1975 to 2012. He loved purchasing real estate properties in the area and collecting classic T-bird cars.
Monte survived mouth and throat cancer in the late 1990s, which impaired his speech and body stature, but he never complained. He continued with his dental practice and hobbies until his health brought him to a standstill. His last years were spent living in a beautiful senior home surrounded with his favorite things and many comforts.
Monte was preceded in death by parents, Martin W. and Bertha Bosch, and Nephew William Bosch. He is survived by his twin brother, Martin D. Bosch, sister, Barbara (Richard) Schmidt, nieces, Stephanie (Todd) Helton, Paula (Gabriel) Blott, Cody (Nate) Giller, and nephew David Schmidt, three great-nephews, two great nieces, dear friends Jerrie and Joe, dear Bosch cousins, and Kritzmire cousins.
Monte’s wish was to have no services.
