Meet your Peoria business: Yellowbird Notary

Posted

•Name: Linda Donlay
•Age: 72
•Business name: Yellowbird Notary
•Where do you live: In Peoria for 25 years
•Hours of Operation: I am a mobile notary. I come to you between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week.
•Personal background: It has been one of travel. I especially love the ocean. I lived in Huntington Beach, California and raised four of my five children.
•Professional background: It has been in banking and all aspects of mortgage, modification and loans. Along with bank knowledge, I served as director of the Paralegal institute and that allows for me to be familiar with law. Together this has led me to become a notary of the public.
•Hobbies: I love to read, and when the season permits, I garden.
•Other interests: I love farmers markets and putting together puzzles in the morning while drinking coffee.

•What I like most about doing business here: Sunrise and sunset are awesome. There is a real purpose to live here with hiking, golf and people who know how to relax.
•Changes I’d like to see in this area: I’d like to see more parks on the order of Rio Vista, it has something for everyone. I would love to see public transportation extended to Peoria.
•What I’m excited about and why: I’ve been excited by all the family events I’ve attended these last couple of months. After the trials and tribulations of last year, I’m filled with gratitude.
•Favorite community cause and why: Though not local, my chosen cause and interest is with Saint Jude’s Children ‘s Hospital. I am a mother of five grown children and eight grandchildren and a great grandmother too. I could not imagine that there is an organization that would fully support parents in such a situation as having childhood cancer. But they do! And my contribution helps.
•Why I started my business/employment here: I feel becoming a notary at this time in my life is nothing short of divine inspiration.
•Family: I have great longevity in my family. My mom is vital at 90 and lives in Texas, my children have settled in the western states.
•People who inspire me: Inspiration comes from Eckart Tolle, Joel Osteen and Emmet Fox.
•My guiding philosophy: My Motto is when in doubt... Don’t.
•My advice to the youth today: To the young, I suggest don’t give up on your dream, ever!
