Loop 303 construction begins in north Peoria

Posted

The Arizona Department of Transportation will close the shoulders between Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway on Loop 303 for the next two months.

The inside (left) shoulder is currently closed in both directions between Lone Mountain and Lake Pleasant Parkways through late February for widening. The inside shoulder will then be closed between Lone Mountain Parkway and north of Happy Valley Parkway from late February to late March.

Loop 303 improvements between Happy Valley and Lake Pleasant Parkways include:

• Constructing a third general purpose lane in each direction by widening in the median.
• Constructing new bridges over the Beardsley Canal and Jomax Parkway for the new section of the Loop 303 freeway mainline.
• Constructing the Jomax Parkway Traffic Interchange, which will connect to the future extension of Jomax Parkway west of Loop 303 to Vistancia Boulevard. The new road will be built by the city of Peoria, with construction expected to begin in March 2021.
