Glendale Preparatory student wins youth vocal competition

Posted

A senior at Glendale Preparatory Academy was the first place winner of the West Valley Chorale’s Fourth Annual Youth Vocal Competition.

Winners were selected from contestants who are high school juniors and seniors from across the Valley. Winners receive scholarships to continue their vocal studies.

This year’s first place winner was Isabella San Pablo, a senior at Glendale Preparatory Academy, 23276 N. 83rd Ave., Suite 1, Peoria.

San Pablo has performed with the Phoenix Children’s Chorus for 10 years, and studied classical voice for four years. She will perform with the Chorale at its Holiday Concert “Holidays from the British Isles” on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the American Lutheran Church in Sun City, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd., and Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 W. Meeker Blvd.

She will receive a $600 scholarship.

Tickets for the December performance are available from Chorale members and are available here.

Student tickets are $5 and can be purchased the night of the performance, and adult tickets are $15 advance or online and $20 at the door. The scholarships are made possible by donations from patrons attending concerts and supported by Sanderson Lincoln.

The West Valley Chorale is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization comprised of auditioned singers from 10 communities.
