Fixin’ to Eat receives Peoria mayor’s award

Carlat presents restaurant of the month

Posted

Mayor Cathy Carlat awarded Fixin’ to Eat as the Mayor’s Restaurant of the Month for August 2021.

Located at the northeast corner of 91st Avenue and Bell Road, Fixin’ to Eat is a meal-kit kitchen that is answering the ever-recurring question: “What’s for dinner?”

With more than 15 years in the business and a passion for bringing families to the dinner table, owner Jaimi Morgan opened Fixin’ to Eat in January 2019 as a way to make dinner planning and meal preparation easier for families.

“I have always been passionate about the concept of uninterrupted quality family time around the table,” Morgan said. “It’s an opportunity for us to connect with one another. But as a busy parent, I understand how challenging it can be to get a healthy, nutritious meal on the table.”

Fixin’ to Eat provides a broad menu of healthy meals that are available as single or family servings. Each meal comes fully prepared to cook at home, eliminating grocery shopping, food preparation, and much of the cleanup that comes with preparing dinner. The preservative-free meals are freezer-friendly and specially prepared to go into the oven or slow cooker, or onto the stove top or grill.

The menu changes monthly and includes more than 30 different items including comfort foods such as meatloaf, pot pie, and chicken parmesan, or flavors to meet more complex palates such as hibachi chicken and seared salmon.

Side dishes and desserts are also available such as mashed potatoes, quinoa, vegetables, key lime pie, strawberry mousse pie and chocolate lava cake.
Many items may be customized to meet dietary needs including low sodium, gluten and dairy free and low carb.

Fixin’ to Eat is located at 8940 W. Bell Rd #101, and offers pick-up and delivery to 16 ZIP codes.
