Cravens: Searching for the definition of impeachment

Posted

I would like to correct Carolyn Copeland’s letter (“Reader says Trump was never impeached”) in which she continues to assert that Donald Trump was never impeached.

In the first part of 2020, the House of Representatives most certainly did impeach Trump over his “perfect” Ukrainian call, but the Senate failed to convict him.

Once again, the House voted to impeach Mr. Trump, and so it went to the Senate to convict him for his gross negligence in inciting the murderous insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The Senate did not convict, but Trump has become the only president to have been impeached twice.
