Charter academy to host career fair

Great Hearts Academies in Arizona is looking to hire 250 teachers and teaching assistants for the 2020-2021 school year.

The company is hosting a career fair 5-8 p.m., Jan. 22 at Veritas Preparatory Academy, near 56th Street and Indian School in Phoenix.

Meet with headmasters or school representatives, human resources, after-school program coordinators, and more.

The business has a Peoria school location, 23276 N. 83rd Ave. #1.

Meet representatives in the athletics department, special education, human resources and the Athenaeum after school program.

Great Hearts Academies is looking for a wide variety of disciplines:

  • elementary lead and apprentice teachers,
  • fine arts specialists across all grade levels (music, poetry, studio art, drama),
  • classical and modern language teachers (Latin, Greek, French, Spanish),
  • subject specialists for the middle and upper grades (math, science, literature, etc.),
  • athletics coaches,
  • teachers and coordinators for special education,
  • Athenaeum – academic after-school program coordinators and teaching assistants.

Candidates are asked to bring extra copies of their resume. While Great Hearts welcomes candidates with teaching certificates, applicants do not need a teaching certification to apply for general education faculty positions. Great Hearts does require that special education and ELL teachers are certified. Candidates do not need to apply before attending, but may apply online, greatheartsamerica.org/careers/apply-now.
