Billy’s Place is hosting an open house Sept. 9 to showcase its grief support center located at 21448 N. 75th Ave., suite 5, on the Glendale/Peoria border.

The open house is an opportunity for those to tour the facility which houses grief support groups for people ages 3 to 30 and their families. The event will feature refreshments, tours, animal therapy, networking and giveaways.

Two time frames will be available to meet the needs of guests. The early open house is from 8 to 10 a.m. and the later one is from 5 to 7 p.m. Both are free to the public. Register at billysplace.me.

Billy’s Place is a free children’s grief support center in the West Valley. With amazing growth happening, they are offering more than 11 free ongoing peer support/education groups for children ages 3 to 30 and their family members each month as well as a comprehensive grief resource center. The groups are open to those who have experienced the death of a mom, dad, brother, sister, or primary caregiver.

Participants will engage in activities that are designed to help them discuss death through their play, art, storytelling, music and talking.

“We are so proud of what we offer for the grieving families in our community. We are ready to begin the next step in our journey to build a new home for Billy’s Place and want to showcase what we are all about! The children of our community deserve to have a safe place to mourn loss and learn healthy coping skills after a special person in their life has died”, Founder Juli McGreal said.
