Valley Metro boards of directors elect new officers

The Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority and Valley Metro Rail boards of directors have elected officers for the fiscal year of July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

The boards help guide the agencies by providing transportation leadership to best serve the region and its communities, according to a release.

Fiscal year 2021 Valley Metro RPTA board officers are:

  • Chair, Peoria Councilmember Jon Edwards
  • Vice chair, Mesa Councilmember Francisco Heredia
  • Treasurer, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego

Fiscal year 2021 Valley Metro Rail board officers are:

  • Chair, Mesa Councilmember Francisco Heredia
  • Vice chair, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego

Fiscal year 2021 Audit and Finance Subcommittee members are:

  • Glendale Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff
  • Tempe Councilmember Robin Arredondo-Savage

Fiscal year 2021 Valley Metro RPTA and Valley Metro Rail Joint Board Subcommittee members are:

  • Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke
  • Goodyear Vice Mayor Bill Stipp

Valley Metro RPTA

Valley Metro RPTA provides coordinated, multi-modal transit options to residents of greater Phoenix, according to the release.

Valley Metro plans, develops and operates regional bus service and alternative transportation programs for commuters, seniors and people with disabilities. The board is comprised of elected officials from 19 cities or towns and Maricopa County.

Valley Metro Rail

Valley Metro Rail plans, constructs, operates and maintains light rail and high-capacity systems in the greater Phoenix area.

The board is comprised of elected officials from four member cities who provide policy direction for rail service.
