The Walter Art Gallery presents: ‘Revealing Resonance’

The Walter Art Gallery will host “Revealing Resonance,” a solo show of works by Bela Fidel from Scottsdale, which will run through June 18.

Ms. Fidel’s body of work is inspired by her experiences living in Brazil, Israel, and the U.S., according to a press release, noting the evidence of each culture “in the rich layering and texturing of her abstract works.”

Striving to expresses herself "through constant exploration, venturing into new territories while staying true to her elegant aesthetics," she searches for new mediums to express aspects of her cultural background through oils, encaustics, acrylic, and mixed media to seek innovation, the release said.

“My intent is to create authentic work that reflects my true Being and my passion for my art. I seek an evocative language and mediums that distill the essence of self-expression … I want each glance at my paintings to be engaging and enrich the viewer’s experience and, hence, life. I hope my work offers delightful discoveries while enticing the viewer to explore and find beauty and joy,” said Ms. Fidel in a prepared statement.

Showing her work for several decades at various art venues in California and Arizona, the release said throughout the years she has been awarded many prizes and commendations for her work.

The Walter Art Gallery will host a virtual artists’ reception starting at 6:30 p.m. for “Revealing Resonance” on Wednesday, May 19 on Facebook, noted the release.

In addition, the gallery, at 6425 E. Thomas Road in Scottsdale, will host small group visits and individuals by appointment. Attendees are asked to wear masks.
