Phoenix Art Museum’s signature annual fundraiser, The pARTy, will kickoff its exhibition MOVE: The Modern Cut of Geoffrey Beene on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023 at 6:30 p.m.

Curated by Helen Jean, the museum’s Jacquie Dorrance Curator of Fashion Design, the fashion exhibition showcases colorful, imaginative garments by the late designer and provides an intimate view into his career and process.

During the evening, Phoenix Art Museum will also honor Patsy Tarr, president of the 2wice Arts Foundation and the founder and publisher of 2wice magazines and books. According to a press release, Tarr gifted more than 300 custom-made Geoffrey Beene ensembles to the museum in 2020, helping to establish Phoenix Art Museum as one of the leading institutions with holdings of Beene’s designs, now housed in the institution’s Geoffrey Beene Archive.

The event also features, cocktails in the Katz Wing for Modern Art, dinner in Cummings Great Hall, dessert, dancing and live entertainment.

Phoenix Art Museum members and art lovers throughout the Valley are invited. Attendees must wear cocktail attire.

Tickets start at $1,000. All proceeds from The pARTy will benefit exhibitions, education programs and vital operations at Phoenix Art Museum.
