Paradise Valley and Scottsdale are home to some of the top resorts in the world.
But who needs resorts when you have a home like this?
Nestled along the northern stretches of Paradise Valley, with captivating views of Camelback Mountain, the McDowell Mountain Range and surrounding Valley, this custom-built 6,400 square foot modern mansion on 1.13 acres has all the comforts of a luxury resort -- a place not just to live, but also work and play.
Bhagyashree Gundappa, Scottsdale-based Realtor who represents the buyer, said there is no video or description long enough of this house to explain every feature that has been carefully tailored-made, with attention to details.
The uniqueness of the property is something one must experience in person to fully do it justice, she said.
"This highly desirable modern home epitomizes the combination of form, function, design, beauty and utility,” she said. “The house uses a lot of material with natural finishes and little to no maintenance like blocks, exposed metal beams and glass.”
The four bedrooms and master bedroom, each with their own private bathrooms, closets and patios, as well as a game room ‑‑ stocked with sporty wall painting patterns, space for a built-in home theater, pool table, bar area and walk in wine cooler capable of holding up to 600 bottles -- will leave your guests wanting to stay an extra day.
Speaking of live, work and play, the property features a 780 square foot casita next to the pool that includes a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, closet and laundry room. The casita doubles as a kitchen-to-boardroom, Zoom-ready office space for those who want to keep their business out of their home, while at the same time conduct professional meetings a hop, skip and a jump away from where you lay your head.
And between the casita and guest house sits the centerpiece of the wrap-around back yard, a resort style pool with lounging areas and kids play area, as well as Bellagio-style fountains and waterfalls.
The pool is surrounded by fire and water features, including hidden laminar jets with LEDs adding an extra dimension to the look and feel of the area, especially at night.
You can’t have a swimming pool without a grill! And this built-in barbeque has lighting features designed to shine through the stones in key areas, allowing you to chill by the pool long after the sun goes down. Add to that a wok cook top for other culinary delights.
Owner Satish Alta said the unique home highlights the luxury resort lifestyle and the beautiful weather that Arizona has to offer.
“The house is built not just for the owner to cherish, but for every family member and guest to feel at home and have a memorable take-away. Be it the quartz clad master bedroom, cleverly designed casita kitchen, kids rooms with ambient features, game room, pool, master kitchen with Neolithic countertop, butler’s pantry and the list goes on and on,” Alta said.
He added that ever since construction, the house has been a showstopper.
“Every passing vehicle on the street would pause to take in the beauty and wonder of this special house.”
The new home-build is a product of Chouinard Studios, a full-service architecture firm with experience in an array of projects ranging from new custom homes to restaurants, retail and multi-family.
Chouinard said the vision of this project started with the creation of a courtyard/resort style home with clean lines that took advantage of the mountain views to the south by adding an upper level.
The upper level also allowed for the creation of a modern feel with massing, volumes and different levels throughout. The loft, patios and roof decks were used to create different vantage points to look down to the central courtyard and pool area. They also create vantage points to interact with the outdoor pool area.
The front elevation was not meant to turn its back to the street, but to give a glimpse of what was behind the front courtyard wall without presenting it all at once.
This home was a great opportunity to work with the owners who really wanted to create something unique, Chouinard said.
“After you go through the gate and under the cantilevered game room floating above, everything opens up on the other side. We also wanted to create seamless indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces with patios to the courtyard,” he said. “Those on the upper level from all rooms as well as those on the ground level create multiple spaces for guests to flow from inside to outside while being visually connected to one another.”
Indeed, this home is certainly meant to be shared with others, and the nighttime is the right time to make this happen.
The house -- inside and outside -- is lit with unique LED lighting and capable of changing from one end of the spectrum to the other, with the home’s centerpiece staircase a spectacle to be experienced.
Alta said a very special feature of this home is ambient lighting, which can be a path to inner peace.
“Color affects how we feel. The concept behind ambient lighting is simple – it is meant to influence our moods whenever we step into our home,” he said. “A home should be one’s sanctuary and its lighting should be a gateway to tranquility.”
