The Town of Paradise Valley will host POP – Prostate On-Site Project -- the mobile medical unit offering prostate cancer screenings for men 40 years old and up or younger men with a family history of prostate cancer.

The public is invited to take advantage of this life saving screening to be held 6–9 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Paradise Valley Town Hall as “POP’s 15-minute exam could save a man’s life.”

The test includes: PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood draw, Testicular Exam, DRE (Digital Rectal Exam) by Board Certified Urologist, according to a press release.

Prostate cancer often presents itself without any signs or symptoms, the release said, noting that one in six men will develop the disease in their lifetime.

If detected early, the course of treatment is less evasive and survival is nearly 100% possible, the release said.

The annual screening is recommended for all men 40 years of age and up; men with a family history of prostate cancer; and African-American men are encouraged to have a DRE and PSA test annually starting at age 35.

The following insurances are accepted: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Net, Humana, United Health Care. Medicare is not covered.

If no insurance at the time of service, the cost is $81 for the prostate cancer screening; special rates apply to Trust and State Employees.

Appointments are required. Times maybe extended, or shortened as needed due to participation.

Call 480-964-3013 or 1-800-828-6139.
