Kids in Focus presents 4th Noche para los Niños benefit event this fall

Kids in Focus is bringing back one of the most popular benefit events in the Valley, Noche para los Niños (Night for the Children) on Thursday, Nov. 10, starting at 6 p.m. at the Arizona Heritage Center at Papago Park.

Kids in Focus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Maricopa County’s most at-risk youth see life through a new lens by providing resilience-building photography mentoring programs.

Chaired by Bea Rocklin, along with honorary chair Billie Jo Herberger, Noche para los Niños is a spectacular Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)- inspired celebration for adults to benefit Kids in Focus. The exciting and mysterious evening will feature live music by Nate Nathan and the MacDaddy-O’s, food from prominent Valley restaurants, open bars, inspirational photographs created by children from Kids in Focus programs, a silent auction, and raffle.

During the event, Kids in Focus will debut the inaugural Herberger Spirit of Giving Award, in honor of the Herbergers’ three-year history of opening their arms and supporting the organization. In this first year, the award will be presented to Billie Jo for her dedication, generosity, and passion for helping vulnerable kids in our community.

“We’re very excited to see the reputation of Noche para los Niños grow each year, and to hear from the attendees that this is their favorite event of the year” said Karen Shell, founder and executive director of Kids in Focus. “Critical funds raised will help at-risk youth grow roots, spread wings and alter the course of their troubled lives.”

Each year over 78,600 Arizona children experience the trauma of abuse, neglect and/or homelessness. Kids in Focus transforms the lives and outlooks of more than 700 kids annually, connecting with children through partnerships with local organizations including Children First Leadership Academy, Boys and Girls Clubs, Sequoia Deaf School, and several foster care agencies, according to a press release.

Tickets are $200. Sponsorship packages are also available and range from $1,000 to $20,000.
