Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation donate to Glendale adult center

Foundation for Senior Living announced the Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation has made a donation to its capital campaign, “Building a Home Away From Home” which will fund a new Adult Day Health Center in Glendale.

The new center will be at the southeast corner of 67th Avenue and Paradise Lane in Glendale and will include naming rights for the Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation. The new location serves the entire northwest valley, according to a press release.

“We are incredibly grateful of the donation from the Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation,” Tom Egan, president and CEO, said in a prepared statement.

“This gift pushes us closer to our goal of raising $4.3 million to build our new facility. It will also help us expand our services to the senior community at large. A portion of their generous gift will help us expand our Care by Design program. FSL’s social workers and staff help people who need assistance navigating the complex role of being a caregiver to their loved one by connecting people who need help with the right services in our community.”

The new Adult Day Center will be well-equipped meeting, work and health monitoring environments. The building will include shower and laundry facilities, therapeutic recreation, educational activities, serving kitchen, media and exercise rooms and a memory garden.

The current center is housed in a rented facility that no longer meets the FSL standards for quality care or accessibility, a release states.

“There is such a need in our community for this new Adult Day Health Center, and we are so proud to be involved with this project,” Ms. Halle, a Paradise Valley resident, said in a prepared statement.

“We are grateful for all the wonderful services that Foundation for Senior Living (FSL) provides for so many individuals.”
FSL’s team includes a registered nurse to supervise healthcare management; certified therapeutic recreational therapists, certified nursing assistants, social workers; and dedicated staff providing personal attention, individualized care plans, interactive games and activities as well as companionship.

FSL ADHS offers nutritious meals to meet a variety of needs, therapeutic recreational activities, daily exercise, personal care including bathing, community outings and special events, celebrations and holiday programs, limited transportation, education and information programs.

The staff and specialized services are also available to support individuals experiencing dementia, traumatic brain injuries and a variety of other cognitive and physical challenges.

FSL’s ADHS is a haven for family members and caregivers, offering the family respite from the stress and demands of full-time support for loved ones and the opportunity to remain in the workforce.
