Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce is looking for entries for its 2021 Visit Southwest Valley Visitor & Relocation Guide photo contest.

The chamber will accept images through Thursday, Oct. 8, officials announced in a release. Photographers of all skill levels may submit multiple images for a chance to be a featured story in the publication or have their image featured on the cover.

Images must be taken in Avondale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Tolleson only.

“We know many of you LOVE taking photos of our iconic nature, buildings, downtown, local shops, streetscapes and more. Share these wonderful photos with us!” chamber officials stated. “All submitted neighborhood photos will be considered for the cover of the 2021 Visit Southwest Valley Community Guide. All photos chosen for publication will be given credit to the photographer.”

“We want each of you to showcase what it is like to be a resident, employee or patron of the Southwest Valley community! We want to share your perspective of our diverse and interesting community with everyone!” officials stated. Images of nature, buildings, downtown areas, family events, activities, business settings and more are sought.

One photo that grabs readers’ attention, creates an emotion and encompasses each of the cities served by the chamber will be chosen for the publication’s front cover.

“It can be a nature shot during the right lighting, sports activity, business gathering or each cities flag on a field or by a fountain,” officials stated. “We are looking for a clean, focused image that captures all that we have to offer: community, family, business. The cover must be 300 dpi (or higher) at 8.84 x 11.3 inches width by height. Preferred format is TIFF, PNG or non-compressed JPG.

Images should be labeled with the photographer’s name. If there are individuals in the photo, their names and a photo release must be included with the submission.

Email submissions to news@southwestvalleychamber.org, with Photo Contest as the subject line. Include the photographer’s name and telephone number in the email. Winners will be notified Monday, Oct. 12.
