The Litchfield Park City Council will consider three special winter events, a use permit and liquor license for Transplant City Beer Co. and updates to its COVID-19 Business Assistance Program when it meets in regular virtual session at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The council also will hear an update on the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center project and honor its third-quarter Employee of the Quarter.

Winter events proposed by Special Events Coordinator Tricia Kramer include Christmas Eve services at the Church at Litchfield Park, the city’s annual Christmas in the Perk celebration and the annual Native American Fine Arts Festival. A third event is the 50th annual Litchfield Park Festival of Arts scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7-8.
The COVID-19-compliant events are proposed on the heels of successful fall events that included a Drive-In Movie Night and Oktoberfest.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted Oct. 14 to recommend approval of a request by Transplant City Beer Co. to move its 107 W. Honeysuckle St., wants to move its brewery and taproom next door to 103 W. Honeysuckle St.
If the council approves the request after a public hearing, owners Justin Egbert and Paul Power will have more space for special release event, including an outdoor patio.
Both agreed to commissioners’ recommendation that they close at 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday to mitigate impacts on surrounding residential neighborhoods.
The council also will consider recommended changes to its COVID-19 Business Assistance Program that would allow businesses in the city to apply for relief grants of up to $10,000 regardless of whether they have received government assistance like Paycheck Protection, to provide bank statements instead of financial statements.
City staff also will recommend that nonprofits be allowed to apply, and allow businesses to apply by one of three deadlines: Nov. 20, Dec. 18 and Jan. 22
