Annual festival celebrating all things German Oct. 5
Litchfield Park’s Oktoberfest takes place 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 on the front lawn of The Wigwam, 300 Wigwam Blvd.
German inspired entrées will be prepared by The Wigwam’s chefs and, of course, German and domestic beers, as well as wine, will be served at the festival. Nickelcity Express will play a variety of live music, including Oktoberfest favorites.
Guests are encouraged to wear German outfits for chances to win prizes for both adults and kids. The event will include a children’s area and entertainment for the entire family, including lawn games and a polka competition.
Festival admission is $15 per person and includes a souvenir stein for all advance ticket-holders and while supplies last at the gate. Kids under 12 admitted free.
Proceeds from sales of admission tickets and Oktoberfest souvenirs benefit the Litchfield Park Recreation Department. Advance tickets available at the Litchfield Park Recreation Center, 100 S. Old Litchfield Road, or online at eventbrite.com . Admission prices do not include food and beverages. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate the day of the festival.
