Himani Bhatt, of Mountain Ridge High School, 22800 N. 67th Ave., Glendale, has been selected as one of the 12 NAF Virtual interns this spring for the National Academy Foundation.

She was selected from more than 820 applicants across the nation and among 53 interviewed.

Himani will be working on creating a spotlight video tour of the Nationally Recognized Academy of Entrepreneurship at Mountain Ridge. The school has been recognized for excellence in assisting students in opening their own businesses while in high school. Her job description includes concept work, story boards, scripts, video shots and editing.

She will work with a professional in the production industry as she works on this internship.

The Academy of Entrepreneurship at Mountain Ridge offers students a look at careers in entrepreneurship, marketing, hospitality or business management. Students are encouraged to develop projects in areas of specialized interest -- such as fashion merchandising, advertising, sports and entertainment marketing, travel and tourism, medical, engineering, innovative apps, or international business. Business plan competitions, internships, workshops, leadership opportunities, travel and scholarships are all part of the experience.

The schools offers curriculum using the National Academy Foundation and competitions with DECA within the marketing strand. Find out more by signing up for Marketing at Mountain Ridge or emailing Debbie.Moore@dvusd.org.
