Missoula Children's Theatre invites in Surprise students
Week-long theater camp in July

The Missoula Children's Theatre, the nation’s largest touring children’s theater, is headed for Surprise.
Up to 60 local students are invited to participate in a one-week theater camp that culminates in a public performance of a musical production of "Little Red Riding Hood."
The five-day camp convenes on Monday, July 18 at The Vista Center for the Arts, 15660 N. Parkview Place.
The show will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 22 and is open to the public.
REGISTRATION/TUITION
Students who wish to be cast in the performance will need to register for the production no later than Wednesday, July 13. Tuition for Missoula Children's Theater is $250 and includes two complimentary tickets to the sho.
Additional tickets may be purchased for $10/adult, $5/child. A recording of the performance can be purchased for $30 after the show. To sign up, visit VistaAZ.com/camp
The audition begins promptly at 10 a.m. on Monday. A group-style audition will last 90 to 120 minutes, facilitated by the Missoula staff members.
Casting will be announced immediately following the audition. All registrants will be guaranteed a role in the cast or crew. Among the roles to be cast are Red Riding Hood; her three Girlfriends; Little Loveable Wolf; the Hood Family; the Three Little Pigs; a Woodsman; a Locksmith; Ranger Rooney; The Boy who Cried Wolf; the Wolfgang.
Forest Shadows; and some rascally Raccoons. Students entering grades 1 through 12 are encouraged to participate. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
REHEARSALS
Following the audition and casting on Monday, an exact rehearsal schedule for each participant will be distributed. Participants should bring a bag lunch, in the event that they have a rehearsal in the afternoon.
The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm each day.
SUPPLEMENTAL CHILD CARE AVAILABLE
Childcare before and/or after rehearsals can be provided at an additional cost through the Dysart Summer Camp held at Freedom Traditional Academy, located next door to The Vista.
Their hours are 6a.m.-6p.m.. Staff will walk students to and from theater camp, as needed. If you are interested in learning more or registering for childcare, contact maya.courtright@dysart.org.
