Mary Lorraine (Dion) Thompson

Mary, 89, wife of the late Frederick L. Thompson, Sr., passed away March 23, 2021 at Prescott House in North Andover.
Born in Pomfret, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Ulderic and Bernadette (Darveau) Dion.
Raised in Lebanon, NH, she was a graduate of Lebanon High School, Class of 1948. She obtained her teaching degree from Keene State, graduating in the Class of 1952. Mary taught in the Rochester, NH public school system for many years.
She lived in Rochester from 1963 until 1975, when she moved to Danvers. While living in Danvers, she volunteered at the former Hunt Hospital. Mary lived in Arizona from 1993 until 2015 before moving to No. Andover. She was a bird watcher and member of the Audubon Society, traveling to every state in the Union to bird watch. Known for being a huge Celtics fan she also enjoyed bowling. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving her are her children, Frederick L. Thompson, Sr. and his wife Cathy of Atkinson, NH; Claudette M. Thompson and Christopher McGovern of No. Reading; Paul N. Thompson and his wife Juli of Elan, No. Carolina; John W. Thompson and his wife Elizabeth of Bradford; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; twelve siblings; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
