Young chefs who pride themselves on rocking it in the kitchen have a chance to test their culinary mettle in the Aioli Gourmet Burgers and Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers Burger & Shake Creation Contest.

One winner in each category will be awarded a first-place prize of a $200 gift card to Aioli Burger and the chance to cook with Chef Tommy D’Ambrosi, according to a release.

Their creations also will be featured on the restaurant’s menu  during November, with 10% of proceeds of the winning burger and shake sales going to the teen centers.

Second-place winners will receive a $100 gift card, and third-place winners will receive a $50 gift card.

Aioli Gourmet Burgers, which started in Paradise Valley in 2013, opened its second storefront in Fry’s Marketplace in Litchfield Park in April. A third location at Seventh Avenue and Bell Road opened in August.

“I can’t wait to see what fresh new ideas the kids come up with, and I’m very excited to partner with Alice Cooper’s Teen Centers. I was once a culinary student, too, so I know how fun it can be to have opportunities like this. Plus, we’re thrilled to support a great organization that offers free arts programs for teens,” Mr. D’Ambrosio said in a prepared statement.

The contest is open to youth ages 12 to 20 who may submit their personal burger or shake recipe ideas through Friday, Oct. 16 by emailing them to info@aioliburger.com.

The top three ideas for burgers and shakes will be announced Monday, Oct. 19, via live stream on Instagram,  then public voting will take place through Wednesday, Oct. 28 . The winner for each category will be selected Thursday, Oct. 29, during a live concert at Aioli Gourmet Burgers on 32nd Street & Shea in Phoenix.

The live concert will be a limited gathering with social distancing measures in place and masks required, the release stated.

“Experiences like this are so valuable and vital for teenagers in the community,” said Randy Spencer, partnerships and development for Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers. “We love providing unique opportunities like this for the youth we serve with great brands like Aioli Gourmet Burgers. Alice and Sheryl Cooper, our staff and board members are excited to try the burger and shake that the winning teens create!”
