Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Luke AFB libraries prepping for summer reading program
Tails and Tales participants can register now
Posted
The Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Luke Air Force Base libraries are registering participants for the Tails and Tales summer reading program.
The Maricopa County Library District program kicks off Tuesday, June 1, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 1.
The Maricopa County Reads summer program is open to all public, tribal and military base libraries in the county.
Its primary goal is to keep children reading as they transition between school years, and to promote early literacy among pre-readers and their families.
Library officials recommend reading for at least 20 minutes per day to build a lifelong habit of reading.
Maricopa County Reads online summer reading program began in 2013. More than 80,000 children in the county participate at 65 libraries throughout the county.
