Posted

The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 82  new weekly COVID-19 cases in Litchfield Park between Sept. 10 and Sept. 17, a decrease from last week.

Between Sept. 3 and Sept. 10, county data reported 101 new weekly cases in Litchfield Park, which was a 20% decrease from the previous two weeks, when about 120 cases were reported each week.

A total of 4,990 cases have been reported in the city since the start of the pandemic.

The data includes the city of Litchfield Park and unincorporated Maricopa County. The state does not separate cases by incorporated and unincorporated areas.

Over 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient's residence.

To date, 4,395,495 people have been vaccinated in Maricopa County as of Sept. 14, according to county data.

Nearly 9,000 people were given the COVID-19 booster shot between Sept. 7 and Sept. 14, according to county data.

While demand for the vaccine has dropped since its peak in April, more people in Maricopa County have received at least one vaccine dose than people who have not received any doses, according to county officials.

State and county-wide COVID case numbers

While the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in Arizona has been rising slightly since the beginning of the month, death rates have been dropping since May, according to Mayo Clinic data.

The percentage of positive COVID-19 tests were around 5% in early June, peaked at 12.8% in early Aug., decreased again to 10.6% on Sept. 8, and is currently around 11.34%.
