Posted

Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo has named October Domestic Violence Awareness Month at an Oct. 3 city council meeting.

The city is participating in the statewide Lighting Arizona Purple campaign to help bring awareness to the problem of domestic violence in our state and beyond.

Since 2017, the city of Goodyear has granted New Life Center, a domestic violence shelter in the city, a total of $54,000. Goodyear awards grants each year to non-profits that serve Goodyear residents.

The Goodyear Police Department Victim Assistance Program provides assistance to domestic violence victims. In an emergency, victims should call 911.
