COVID cases remain steady at Agua Fria, Litchfield elementary districts

Two southwest Valley school districts saw elevated but constant numbers of COVID-19 cases among students and staff during the past week.

Litchfield Elementary School District case count

Litchfield Elementary School District reported 66 weekly COVID-19 cases and 682 total cases since the semester began on Aug. 2. 

The school district which serves close to 11,500 elementary and middle school students has also reported 254 active quarantine cases for the week. Last week, 259 people were reported to be in quarantine, according to numbers published Friday, Nov. 12. 

The district is seeing slightly fewer COVID cases when compared with last week, when it reported 90 active cases.

  • Barbara B. Robey Elementary: 4 total cases reported; 8 active quarantine cases
  • Belen Soto Elementary: 7 total cases reported; 20 active quarantine cases
  • Corte Sierra Elementary: 1 total case reported; 7 active quarantine cases
  • Dreaming Summit Elementary: 3 total cases reported; 15 active quarantine cases
  • Litchfield Elementary: 4 total cases reported; 8 active quarantine cases
  • L. Thomas Heck Middle School: 3 total cases reported; 19 active quarantine cases
  • Mabel Padgett Elementary: 3 total cases reported; 8 active quarantine cases
  • Palm Valley Elementary: 3 total cases reported; 15 active quarantine cases
  • Rancho Santa Fe Elementary: 4 total cases reported; 11 active quarantine cases
  • Scott L. Libby Elementary: 10 total cases reported; 33 active quarantine cases
  • Verrado Elementary: 2 total cases reported; 6 active quarantine cases
  • Verrado Heritage Elementary: 7 total cases reported; 30 active quarantine cases
  • Verrado Middle School: 7 total cases reported; 11 active quarantine cases
  • Western Sky Middle School: 5 total cases reported; 33 active quarantine cases
  • White Tanks Learning Center: 1 total case reported; 2 active quarantine cases
  • Wigwam Creek Middle School: 2 total cases reported; 28 active quarantine cases

All but two of the district’s 16 campuses are experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks. 

A school is said to have an outbreak when two or more students or staff from different households test positive for COVID-19 within a two-week period, according to county health officials.

Agua Fria Union High School District case count

Agua Fria Union High School District reported 72 cases for the week ending on Nov. 19. Of the reported cases, 67 are students and five are teachers, according to district numbers reported the afternoon of Nov. 19.  

Last week, the district reported 62 total COVID-19 cases as of Nov. 12.

  • Agua Fria: 16 reported cases; 14 students, 2 staff 
  • Canyon View: 32 reported cases; 31 students, 1 staff
  • Desert Edge: 6 reported cases; 6 students, 0 staff 
  • Millennium: 12 reported cases; 10 students, 2 staff 
  • Verrado: 6 reported cases; 6 students, 0 staff
