Dog training business Zoom Room is celebrating the opening of its Arrowhead location in Peoria this weekend, Aug. 22-23, 7439 W. Bell Road Suite A-1.

Zoom Room Arrowhead will be the Los Angeles-based brand’s first location in Arizona.

Zoom Room Arrowhead is owned and operated by long-time Phoenix resident Colin Elliott. Mr. Elliot shares a lifelong passion for baseball with his father. Mr. Elliot worked at a major league baseball front office and regularly traveled to games around the country with his father. During these travels, they often discussed their other great shared passion: dogs. When the two encountered Zoom Room, they decided to go into business together, allowing Mr. Elliot to be his own boss and to share his enthusiasm with the Arrowhead community.

In celebration of the opening, Zoom Room Arrowhead will be hosting a series of safe, socially-distanced events, which will consist of several 45-minute intro to dog agility training classes for $5, Aug. 22-23, and four free activity-filled mini-parties on the afternoon of Aug. 22. Guests attending the Aug. 22 afternoon mini-parties will enjoy an ice cream sundae cart, dog-friendly photo booth and doggy donut decorating and bobbing for hot dogs (for the dogs!). Masks and reservations are required for the agility classes and mini-parties. Classes will be capped at six dogs while the mini-parties will be capped at 20 dogs to allow for proper social distancing in the 4,000 square foot facility. Staff members will be controlling the flow of traffic at each event to prevent bottlenecking between stations. For each dog that registers and attends the mini-parties, Zoom Room Arrowhead will donate $10 to the Arizona Small Dog Rescue, a local nonprofit.

“Starting this new chapter of my life, I am excited to bring this dog training business to the Peoria community and to welcome all puppies, older pooches and their people to experience all Zoom Room has to offer,” Mr. Elliot said in a news release. “I hope the community takes to this fun, dually-beneficial concept that bonds humans and their dogs.”

Currently operating in California, Texas, Washington, Virginia and soon in Florida and Nevada, Zoom Room offers positive dog training in group or private classes, including agility, puppy training, obedience, and therapy dog training, among others.

Zoom Room Arrowhead will be open Monday – Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The gym can be reached at 623-850-1342 or https://zoomroom.com/arrowhead.
