West-MEC resumes CTE programs in Surprise, Glendale

Posted

West-MEC, a career and technical education public school district in the West Valley, begin most programs Aug. 3, after a two-month long summer break.

Culinary, EMT and fire science programs start later in the month. Aviation and aesthetics programs began on Aug. 1.

All programs available are taught by industry experts and prepare students for certification and industry credential exams. In the 2021-22 school year, 96% of West-MEC students received at least one industry credential.

“We are very excited to have our students returning for their second year and equally excited to welcome our new students to West-MEC. Our staff has been working hard to prepare. We had tremendous attendance at our student and parent orientations last week and we look forward to another highly successful school year in Career and Technical Education,” said northeast campus administrator David Svorinic.

West-MEC serves more than 48 schools with more than 37,000 students within West-MEC’s four campuses and satellite programs within West-MEC’s 14 member school districts. Back-to-school information can be found on west-mec.edu.
