Rosh Hashanah approaching in Glendale

With Rosh Hashanah approaching on Sunday, Sept. 25, professional beekeeper Patrick Pease demonstrates how he extracts honey for the New Year table.

The Jewish New Year festival is marked by the blowing of the shofar, and begins the 10 days of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur. Rabbi Lew of Chabad of the West Valley, at 7942 W. Bell Road, Glendale, demonstrates the traditional shofar blowing with a full blast.

Rosh Hashanah ends in the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 27.
