Peter, 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on September 9, 2021.
He was born in Newark, NJ, on July 4, 1937, to the late Peter and Mary (Swaczy) Dellane. Peter graduated from Hillside High School 1955. He retired from being a co-proprietor of the Forest Lake Inn, Friendsville, PA.
He joined the United States Marines in August 1955 and was honorably discharged as Sargent in 1959. He completed 3 tours including the Mediterranean Sea, North Atlantic and Caribbean. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and a member of the NRA.
Peter is survived by three children; Mark and Shirley (Telep) Dellane, of Jackson, NJ; Mary (Dellane) Case, of Chambersburg, PA; Peter and Laura (Feagin) Dellane, of Queenstown, MD. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Anastasia Case, Cooper Dellane and Connor Dellane. He is survived by his sister, Patricia (Dellane) Smith of Dewey, AZ along with a niece and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his former wife, Diane Dellane.
Peter lived in Apache Junction, AZ, for many years where he rescued his Weimaraner companion, Bella, who has kept him young by daily walks in the desert and chasing rabbits. He enjoyed all birds, especially racing pigeons in his younger years. An avid reader of mystery stories, he exhausted small library resources.
