Peoria Unified appoints 2 new district principals
Desert Palms Elementary, Centennial High welcome new leaders for 2020-21

Peoria Unified School District Governing Board members on April 23 approved two new principals to lead in the 2020-21 school year.
Stephanie Ward is the new principal at Desert Palms Elementary School, 11441 N. 55th Ave., Glendale. She currently serves as principal of Palm Lane Elementary School in the Cartwright Elementary School District in Phoenix. Ms. Ward has served as a certified administrator since 2008 and started her career as a classroom instructor in 2002. She has a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and two master’s degrees from Northern Arizona University in Education Leadership and Secondary Education/English, respectively.
Scott Hollabaugh was appointed principal at Centennial High School, 14388 N. 79th Ave., Peoria. He currently serves as interim principal at Centennial, and for the past two school years served as assistant principal with duties related to curriculum. Since 2005, Mr. Hollabaugh also served in roles of teacher and student council advisor at Sunrise Mountain High School, 21200 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria, and assistant principal/athletic director at Raymond S. Kellis High School, 8990 W. Orangewood Ave., Glendale. Mr. Hollabaugh has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo in Secondary Language Arts Education and a master’s degree in Education, Administrative Supervision and Principalship from Arizona State University.
Peoria Unified School District is home to 42 public schools and more than 37,000 students and 4,000 staff, serving as one of the largest employers in the West Valley and one of the largest unified school districts in Arizona.
