Officials break ground on new Banner Health center in Glendale
Posted
Leaders from Banner Health and its developer partner NexCore Group, along with Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers and other government, community and business leaders, gathered to break ground on Banner’s newest health center project.
The project, located near 75th Avenue and the Loop 101, is especially significant because it is Banner’s largest health center to date, according to a release.
At 128,000 square feet, the facility will offer 128 exam rooms and 13 imaging rooms. When completed, it will be about two to three times larger than Banner’s next-largest health center, with a combined investment of $53 million.
Upon completion in spring 2021, the health center will employ 215 health care professionals, including 47 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Primary care will include family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics. Specialties will be cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, psychiatry, obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and vascular treatment.
Easy access will be a center point of the project, offering patients a one-stop-shopping, modern health care experience under one roof. Labs, imaging and pharmacy also will be included.
Banner Health Chief Operating Officer Becky Kuhn said the new center will improve patient access, convenience and lower costs.
“This is a perfect example of how we bring that to life when you can create effectively in the outpatient space a nearly one-stop shopping environment,” Ms. Kuhn said. “We will have both primary care and a full array of specialists in addition to sophisticated imaging equipment, laboratory services and a café. This is a much larger, more exciting footprint than we’ve seen in many of our other health centers.”
