Movies under the stars coming to Glendale

‘Movies by Moonlight’ returns with peculiar cast of characters

Glendale’s “Movies by Moonlight” series is set to return with three family favorites for the fall.

The 1985 classic “The Goonies” kicks off the series at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 drive-in movie style in the ASU West parking lot, 4701 W. Thunderbird Road. After that it will be “Monsters Inc.” at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Rose Lane Park, 5003 W. Marlette Ave., followed by the holiday favorite “Elf” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at Murphy Park, 5800 W. Glendale Ave.

All movies are free.

Pre-movie activities for kids start at 6 p.m., including pre-show car bingo before “The Goonies.” Prior to “Monsters Inc.” there will be face painting and a special craft.
