Mountain Ridge student earns JA scholarship

Neil Walia of Mountain Ridge High School, 22800 N. 67th Ave., Glendale, has won the Junior Achievement Scholarship, the school announced July 1.

He is the recipient of the Steven G Mihaylo Scholarship in the amount of $5,324.50 for his accomplishments and hard work.

He also earned the National Academy Foundation (NAF) Cash Award of Excellence being recognized for his excellence and NAFTrack certification. He will receive a $1,000 cash award from NAF, which is a national network of education, business, and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career and future ready.
