Midwestern University has added four staff members to the campus administration team.

Matthew Sweeney, CPA, was promoted to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Gregory O’Coyne, CPA, was promoted to Vice President, Finance. Jeffrey Jensen, D.P.M., FACFAS, has been named Dean of AZCPM, and Victoria Franks, M.Adm., has been promoted to Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Midwestern’s Glendale campus is located at 19555 N. 59th Ave.

Sweeney has been with the university since 2011, serving as the Controller, and in 2020 he was promoted to Assistant Vice President, overseeing day-to-day operations of the Business Services department on both campuses, in Arizona and Illinois, including supervision of Accounting, Accounts Payable, internal controls, and financial reporting.

O’Coyne was most recently Assistant Vice President, Student Financial Services & Registrars, for both Midwestern campuses, overseeing student financial aid, student accounts, and registrar activities, as well as the university’s institutional loan programs and ongoing compliance with the Higher Education Act.

Jensen joined Midwestern in 2017 as the Program Director for the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine in the College of Health Sciences.

Franks began her career at Midwestern in 2008 as the Assistant to the Dean of the Arizona College of Optometry. She was promoted to Executive Assistant to the President in 2018.
