Hope, 92, of Sun City died on June 9th, 2021. A native of Ohio, Hope was born on April 24, 1929 to Hershel and Doris Matson but was raised by her precious maternal grandmother Matilda Willis.
She was the beloved wife of Donald Lee Michael for 58 years and beloved wife to Bernard William Michael for 11 years. She was the loving mother of four children: Faithe Schmits, Donna Schell, Deborah Kidwell and Donald Lee Michael Jr. She had 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is survived by 4 of her 9 siblings.
She was an active member of the First Church of Christ in Sun City. She was a homemaker in her early years and then transformed her life with a career in cosmetology. She first worked at Elder-Beerman Department Store in Centerville, Ohio; Robinson’s-May in California and Horne Furniture in Sun City, Arizona.
Hope was a kind, loving woman who enjoyed her family and friendships. All her adult life, she loved to bowl in leagues, play cards and entertain with fancy desserts.
Her celebration of life services was held at Best Funeral Home in Phoenix on Saturday, June 12th at 11:00 A.M.
