City seeking nonprofits, agencies to administer federal grants

Glendale has $300,000 in federal grant funding to dish out to for small business assistance related to the coronavirus pandemic and is seeking a nonprofit or local government agency to help it administer the funds.

Applications are currently being requested from area nonprofits and agencies interested in administering the grant program. These funds are eligible to be used for small business expenses incurred after March 1, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city of Glendale received this funding through the CARES Act in response to the pandemic and will make it available to businesses experiencing funding needs related to recent closures.

Glendale City Council continues to make supporting the community’s small businesses, who are dramatically impacted by these unprecedented times, a priority. This funding is one more tool to support those that have been impacted by the economic disruption.

All interested agencies must submit their application by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. All applications for funding will be reviewed and scored based on the criteria established in the application packet.

Application packets can be found online at glendaleaz.com/grants.

Questions regarding the application process can be answered by contacting Matthew Hess through email at Mhess@glendaleaz.com or by calling 623-930-3682.
