A Glendale student was among the winners of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.
Second place went to Dang Le, an 11th grade student at Deer Valley High School, 18424 N. 51st Ave., for his oil painting “Oversaturated.” His artwork will be displayed in Washington D.C. for one year.
Winners were chosen by members of the art nonprofit What’s Happening Art Movement (WHAM), at 16560 N. Dysart Road in Surprise.
“The three pieces that were selected were outstanding in their artistic abilities,” WHAM Executive Director Connie Whitlock stated. “All three were detailed and showed a mature understanding of their medium and style.”
