Glendale announced the selection of Lisa Collins as the city’s permanent planning administrator. Ms. Collins joined the Glendale team in July of this year and has been serving in an interim capacity.

Ms. Collins brings almost 30 years of public service experience after working in similar capacities for the cities of Scottsdale and Tempe as well as for the Town of Queen Creek.

She has a wealth of experience working with city councils, commissions and neighborhood groups.

“Lisa brings strong leadership in key areas that will keep this department moving forward during a time of robust new investment in our community,” said Glendale Assistant City Manager Chris Anaradian.

“She is a consummate professional with a high level of respect within the industry and among her peers.”

Glendale’s City Council has placed a priority on having a strong planning department, recognizing that it is critical to continuing Glendale’s economic growth and success

“Glendale is a very exciting place to be right now because it’s such a diverse community with something to offer everyone,” Ms. Collins said. “I’m honored and excited for this opportunity to bring the City Council’s vision to reality and to serve the city and citizens by successfully managing growth and change.”

Ms. Collins has a master’s degree in public administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Arizona State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design.
