Abrazo Arrowhead Campus held its inaugural Chili Cookoff on Friday, with entries from local fire departments, ambulance crews, emergency air transport and hospital departments.

The event was a way to thank first responders and hospital staff for their contributions to providing quality medical care for the community. Everyone who attended could be a judge, tasting and voting for the best chili from approximately 20 entries.

When the votes were counted, overall winners were: 1st place: Arrowhead Surgical Services; 2nd place: Arrowhead Imaging; and 3rd place: Native Air Flight Crew.

First place took home the “chili bowl” Traveling Trophy, with category winners earning medals and engraved wooden spoons commemorating the event.

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus is located at 18701 N. 67th Ave., Glendale.

“We thank everyone for their participation and look forward to a second annul chili cookoff next year,” Abrazo Arrowhead Campus CEO Stephen Garner shared in a statement.
