They are a sign of the times, big red banners reminding residents pick up or delivery are options when social distancing.

City of Glendale representatives are delivering the signs to restaurants to help get word out that they are still open and ready for business even though dining areas are closed to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

Signs are available for restaurants offering pick up and delivery or pick up only. Restaurant owners can email jpederson@glendaleaz.com to request the appropriate sign.

Glendale residents and visitors will also see reminders on overhead digital traffic signs. The city has also compiled a list of all the restaurants within city limits that are offering takeout and/or delivery. This includes an interactive map at glendaleaz.com/takeout.

Other steps to support local business include temporarily relaxing appropriate zoning codes and other restrictions to accommodate takeout or drive-thru services.
