Tolmachoff to serve on National League of Cities’ Federal Advocacy Committee

Posted

Glendale Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2022 Information, Technology and Communication (ITC) Federal Advocacy Committee.

Tolmachoff was elected to her third term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities. Her appointment follows her service as vice-chair of the ITC Committee in 2021. The appointment was announced by NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia.

“I am pleased to continue serving on the ITC Committee,” Tolmachoff, who represents the city’s Cholla District, shared in a statement. “Our work plays a key role in advocating for federal policies that will shape the future of how technology is deployed, the aesthetics of infrastructure and making connectivity accessible to everyone.”

As a member of NLC’s ITC committee, Tolmachoff will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocating on behalf of America’s municipalities before Congress, with the administration and locally.

“NLC’s federal advocacy committees are a key tool for gathering insights directly from the communities that our members serve,” NLC President Mayor Vince Williams stated in a news release. “I am excited to have Councilmember Tolmachoff serve on the Information, Technology and Communication committee and look forward to working with her to fulfill the promise of America’s cities, towns and villages.”
