Glendale 2nd graders perform ‘wonderful’ virtual concert

Great Hearts Archway students send up Louis Armstrong classic

Posted

A group of second graders from Great Hearts Archway Glendale, 23276 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria, came together for a virtual group performance of the Loauis Armstrong classic “What a Wonderful World.”

The video starts on 38 students with their homeroom teacher Lizzie Severson. As the video continues, viewers see close-ups of some of the students.

The second graders at the nonprofit charter school in Peoria finished their fourth quarter music class with the virtual choir performance of the popular ’60s tune originally recorded by Mr. Armstrong and written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. The event was part of a school-wide virtual concert, put together by music teacher Emily Hendricks.
