DVUSD employee Sherry Curley-Scrum earns Special Needs Bus Driver of Year

Sherry Curley-Scrum, with Deer Valley Unified School District, received the Arizona Association of Pupil Transportation’s Special Needs Bus Driver of the Year award.

She was nominated because of her continuous positive attitude and her willingness to find solutions. No matter the circumstance, Ms. Curley-Scrum focuses the needs of her students first, ensuring that they always get to school and back home safely.

A parent called Transportation to thank her supervisor for hiring her and her Bus Tech Tammy Hall. The parent was thrilled about Ms. Curley-Scrum and Ms. Hall’s influence on the kids and how hard they work to make the rides to and from school the best they can be. The parent said these two work hard every day to make her child’s ride enjoyable, which in turn makes the student love going to school.
