Annual Sidewalk Sale returning to downtown Glendale

Posted

Head to Historic Downtown Glendale for a beautiful spring day and lots of sales at downtown’s annual sidewalk sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

Many of the Historic Downtown Glendale boutiques and specialty shops will offer huge sales on everything from fashion apparel and jewelry to home goods and collectibles. Shop along the sidewalks, patios and front porches (and indoors too).

While traveling from shop to shop, visitors can create an Historic Downtown Glendale charm bracelet. The starter bracelet and special Sidewalk Sale charm can be purchased for $5 at Glendale Flowers & Gifts, 7163 N. 58th Drive; Memory Lane Trinkets and Treasures, 5836 W. Palmaire Ave.; or Pink House Boutique, 7009 N. 58th Ave.

Follow the Charm Trail map to purchase additional charms for $2 each at more than 30 participating shops. Each charm depicts the unique and iconic qualities of the individual businesses.

For every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $43 remains in the economy, according to the Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association. In comparison, for every $100 spent at a non-locally owned business, only $13 remains in the economy.

Start the Sidewalk Sale at the Arizona Information Center located at 5836 W. Palmaire Ave. Downtown Docents will provide event information and the walking map.
