William L. Ewers

Posted

William Lloyd Ewers , 93, passed away July 4, 2022 in Sun City, Arizona. Bill was born on December 9, 1928 in Landsford, North Dakota to Alice and Lloyd Ewers. He was the first of seven brothers and sisters; Donald, Ellen Alice, Edith, Duane, Phyllis, and a baby girl. His first love was and always will be his mother, Alice Ruby.
After moving to Phoenix, Bill began working. He worked all his adult life in various careers. Never without a job, he practiced retiring many times, only after a stroke in his late 80’s did he stop working. He was a consummate salesman, whether selling sewing machines or the place to have a nice breakfast, but his best sale was always a smile and twinkle in his eye.
Community and friends were important to Bill, he found both in his church, Sun City Church of the Nazarene. The fellowship he received from his church filled his spirit.
Bill spent his life figuring out how to be a good friend, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He didn’t get them all right all the time, but he didn’t give up and tried to make amends when he could. He is survived by family and friends who loved and admired him for the man he became.
He has been reunited with his Mother and his wife Carolyn. He is missed at breakfast by his friends Dan and Jim. He is remembered by his brother Duane and sister Phyllis; his wife Bertha; his children Tom and Richard; his grandchildren Lisa, Heather, Jesse, Jeramy, and Alex; and his great grandchildren Elizabeth, William, Abigail, Jack, Frederick, Oliver, and Cooper.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 16th at 10:30am at Sun City Church of the Nazarene, 14636 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
