Gilbert manhole project will affect traffic

Posted

The town of Gilbert is restoring degrading sanitary sewer manholes, mostly south of Williams Field Road, which will cause traffic restrictions.

Construction on the third round is under way. Traffic will be diverted around work areas for the duration of the project.

This round consists of 28 manholes in these general locations:

  • four on Ocotillo Road between Lindsay Road and Sailors Way;
  • five on Guadalupe Road between Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive;
  • one on McQueen Road and Houston Avenue;
  • two on Western Powerline Trail between Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive;
  • five on Ray Road between SanTan Freeway and Higley Road;
  • two on Greenfield Road between Tulsa Street and Carla Vista Drive;
  • four on Chandler Heights Road between Higley Road and Recker Road;
  • one on Val Vista Drive between Via Del Palo and Via Del Rancho;
  • one on Greenfield Road between Queen Creek Road and Clark Drive;
  • and three on Arizona Avenue between San Angelo Street and Baseline Road.

The $7.27 million project, funded by the town, started in August after Gilbert Town Council approval and is anticipated to run through December.
