In an effort to better fit the needs of Chandler USD, CUSD board members approved the purchase of 11 vehicles for a total of $813,340.77. The vehicles, once delivered, will go towards the non-student vehicle fleet.
The 11 vehicles all serve as an addition to the existing fleet or as replacements for current vehicles. They will be used to fulfill support service, kitchen and warehouse needs. Approval was unanimously granted by the board members at a June 22 meeting, at which it was confirmed that the vehicles do not have an expected delivery date due to supply chain production issues.
The decision to purchase the vehicles was unanimously approved by the board members. Vehicles purchased include three 2023 Ford F150's, a 2022 Ford Explorer and a 2023 International refrigerated truck with a liftgate. As discussed in the meeting, CUSD has a history of purchasing Ford vehicles for its non-student fleet.
